Learning Outcome
This course serves the purpose to equip students with advanced music theory and techniques at university level. Students are prepared to explore the harmonic language of tonal music and study the stylistic development of western music history.
The academic standard of this diploma is equivalent to the written work component at the end of the first year of an undergraduate course at a conservatoire or other higher education institution. This qualification provides evidence that candidates can manipulate musical materials, understand the notational and structural conventions of representative Western classical music, and can demonstrate both awareness of musical styles based on analysis of set works, and also aural imagination and creativity in responding to specific stimuli.
Pre-requisite
High pass in Music Theory Grade 8 Exam is expected.
Fair English proficiency is expected to master university-level English communication.
